Dark Circles

Dark Circles

Dark circles and bags under your eyes are very common for both women and men. Dark circles can be caused by multiple conditions such as allergies, asthma, and eczema. The most common condition where one may experience dark circles is anemia which is when you are iron deficient causing your body to not produce efficient red blood cells, so the the underlying veins become more visible.

Also diet and sleep deprivation can contribute to bags and discoloration as skin gets dull allowing dark tissue and blood vessels under your skin to show.

And of course as we age, the skin loses collagen around the eyes and becomes thinner and more translucent.

So what can you do to help decrease the appearance of dark circles?

    • Eating a diet rich in Vitamin K foods such as brussel sprouts, spinach, green leafy vegetables may help as these foods increase blood circulation and in turn decreasing the appearance of dark circles.
    • Getting more sleep so your body is well rested
    • Staying hydrated
    • Using products such as Skin Resource.MD Eye Perfection Therapy that uses targeted peptides, vitamins and antioxidants to diminish the puffiness and appearance of dark circles.
