Antioxidants: The Kryptonite of Free Radicals

Antioxidants: The Kryptonite of Free Radicals

Free radicals are oxygen molecules that haven’t connected to anything; as a result of that, they bind onto the cell membrane of your cells and help destroy it. So when you add an antioxidant, it helps remove that free radical oxygen molecule from your system either on your skin or blood stream and keeps it away from attacking your cells. So, if you look at people who are healthy—like some of the patients that I have that are 95 years old – I say “Ok, what are you doing? How do you look like this at 95??” They say “I’ve been taking antioxidants for years and years–even before it was popular.”
